I need to image mesoporous silica nanoparticles that are in ~100 nm size and do high resolution TEM to look at mesopores. what grids should I use?

I suggest using the so-called Watts-Bath:

300 g/L NiSO4*6H2O

45 g/L NiCl2*6H2O

45 g/L H3BO3

which has pH=4.5.

I have taken it from Navas, IEEE Trans. Magn. 42, 3057 (2006),

doi: 10.1109/TMAG.2006.880144 They deposited Ni onto a Au electrode at 35 ºC for 10 min with a current density of 1 mA/cm2, and they obtained a film with thickness about 200 nm.

watts bath is perfect and easy to coat, if you have bipolar rectifier then it will be fantastic. It will give you perfect coating with high bonding strength. You can vary the parameters to achieve good characteristics of the deposit
