Media has been used as a strong tool for cultural invasion. How to avoid this invasion as it is becoming a threat to the roots of societies?
If we consider McCluhan's concept of Globalization then there is no invasion of any culture because all human beings are living in a global village regardless of physical boundaries. But if we take the social identities of every nation than media is literally a serious threat and to avoid this we need to strong our cultural and media institutions to promote our own values and identities.

The modern globalized world has reduced distances and facilitated contact between people , allowing for greater and faster interaction, where values , habits and everyday expressions are constantly shared .But it is worth stressing that the values and expressions that circulate more and therefore imposes itself are precisely those from nations also imposed on other culturally and economically . Which could explain the universality and / or imposition of American language in the world today.
All this cultural invasion can be received with open towards the actual construction and evolution of language arms . However excesses , should caution. For the same globalization that unites people and reduces distances can , even if subtly , homogenizing cultures , leading to standardization of habits , customs and linguistic expressions . Thankyou Nelson, you have brought up some excellent points. But, the issues of the developing world are different. We have not reached the issues of food related problems like obesity etc. because there is still not enough food to go around. Further, for us cultural invasion means giving up our set of beliefs and values which may seem primitive but most of them have proven to be very helpful such as respect of elders, observing segregation etc. All of these values are facing a serious peril of becoming extinct in our lifetimes.
I also agree with Qurattulann. For us cultural invasion is disastrous.
Our culture is 90% dependent on our religion so for us cultural invasion means a lot in the case of religious beliefs its also changing the mind set of the parents they are more flexible now towards the new demands of the time which is ultimately going to change their children into a typical western value oriented person and in order to avoid the pressure from the society we feel little safe to follow the ideology of the so called elite so that no one calls us fundamentalists or conservatives.

I don't see any justification or reason why we need to ward off ''cultural invasion '' , this is a defensive unwarranted concept in the contemporary world of globalization , and gelocalization , trying to make a certain culture impervious to other cultures norms and values in counterproductive in the long run.
The dynamicity and volatility of cultural interactions shall render any futile attempt to avert the so-called cultural invasion . there is always a reciprocal manner culture affects each other and treating it as a linear fashion is not tenable .
Into the bargain , classification of cultures as essentially right and wrong, proper and improper is in itself a spurious fallacious argument. Concepts such as Westoxiffication and Eastoxification just beget violence and aggression amongst nations. The dichotomy of Occidentalism and Orientalism perpetuating opposing ideologies is deleterious to human peace and happiness. It should be pointed out , however, that I have no personal attitude against preserving local values as far as they don't lead to aggression bias and bigotry .

Cultural invasion is leading to rapid homogenization and depletion of cultural richness. It will turn up with rapid succession of 'Americanized society', would start feeding the 'parasite' economically. It will soon vanish the global sustainability. Media is an important channel.
