While studying the microbial biodegradation kinetic on a mixture of two substrates, I found that the first substrate biodegradation kinetic is well described with the Monod-type kinetic model and the second substrate is well described by the Edwards-type kinetic model. As the interaction bettween both sustrates is not competitive, non competitive or uncompetitive enzyme inhibition, I'm thinking to try the SKIP model but i don't have any idea about how to write this SKIP model in my case where I have one monod type model and one Edward type model.
if the two model has similarity, what you should do is to check the behavior of the substrate, look at the system to see if skip model has relation with monod type kinetic model and Edward type kinetic model, if there is a relationship ,then you can develop model through establish relationship that will monitor biodegradability substrate.
Just use suitable kinetics for each substrate with each multiplied by a non-parametric switch function S1/(S1+S2) for substrate 1 and S2/(S1+S2) for substrate 2. S1 and S2 are concentrations of substrate 1 and 2 respectively.
