Can you please tell me that "How can I use the displacement control loading in ANSYS APDL"?
I am doing reinforced concrete beam analysis and I want to get the softening part (after the ultimate load) of Load-deflection curve BCDE, as you can see in the attached figure.
Any help, I would appreciate it.

It is an easy and simple step to do that. After you build your model go to : solution - define loads - apply - displacement then choose where to apply the load (node or element or keypoint etc ). Window will pop up from which you can choose the direction of the displacement ( load) and then input the value of your displacement in the same window.

Thanks a lot for ur answer; however, I tried what you sad many times but I did not get nonlinear softening as u can see above in the above-attached figure.
I had to apply the loads in two load steps: the first load step, I applied loads (force) then i got a good agreement untill B Point.
the second load step, I applied displacement like 10 mm (without force) on the same nodes that I used in the first load step. Then, the curve went back, as u can see below, which means no drop down.
I put the maximum load (135 kN) at the end time of load step 1
then, I put a load (110 kN) at the end time of load step 2
the curve did not drop down because the load is the time, so this is my problem.

May I ask you how did you calculate the loads when you apply a displacement ?
You don't have to apply the load in two steps.
You have to include material non-linearity for concrete and steel in your model.
You have to calculate the applied load from the reactions at the beam ends ( not from time steps )

Hi Marzin, like Kamal said, you can try to use nonlinear material model to describe your force-deflection curve. In this way, it is unnecessary to check deflection during each time step, material non-linearity will be taken into account under the solver.
