I have a galvano-potentiostat and the cell in which I perform and evaluate electrochemical measurements is either 2-electrode or 3-electrode... now if i have to deposit one material over an electrode (or base material), how can it be done in the mentioned setup or are there any changes to be made?
for the electrodeposition of a material on the working electrode it is a question of imposing a cathodic potential to this electrode and that after voltammetric tests E = f(I) linear or cyclic to choose the range of the potential to be imposed. then you carry out the chronoamperometry in order to electrodeposit your material

Naima Ghemmit-Doulache I have to take the electrolytic solution of the material to be deposited (its ionic form) on the electrode ? And what about the reference and counter electrode arrangement? I would be really grateful if you could explain a bit in detail
1. You should use a 3 electrode setup.
2. You should do a CV first to know the value of the potential to be applied for the electrodeposition.
Then you can use a chronoamperometry for the electrodeposition of your material.
The choice of the reference and counter electrode depends on the nature of the electrolyte to be used for electrodeposition.
