For quantification of mucins in my bacterial growth medium I used a fluorometric assay. The problem is that my prebiotics interfere with these measurements. Since there is a big difference in molecular weight: mucins 40*10³ kDa and for example long chain arabinoxylans 20 kDa, I was hoping I could separate them by centrifuging.

The question is: how long and at what speed? They are both dissolved in the medium, and I have no idea about the viscosity of the medium etc. Can anybody help?
