I want to collect the samples from some industries at different interviews and the research laboratory is a bit far from the sampling areas (about 7 hours drive). My targets are mycoflora, chemical elements and heavy metals. Thank you in anticipation

Storing wastewater samples depend on the kind of physical or chemical properties you want to analyze.
In my personal experience, we preserved our samples by adding HCl or HNO3 until pH value is lower than 2 (specially for some metals) and H2SO4 for organics.
Low temp (
It appears to me that it is a common practice to store samples, may be solid and liquid i.e., waste water and sediment for microbiological analysis at 4 degrees C. For measuring physical and chemical properties also the above mentioned temperature may be O.K.
In my opinion, storing the effluent samples at low temperature can help reduce/halt microbial activity. You can decide to store the effluent containers in dry ice to preserve them.
