I want to know how are the effects of a Floating Breakwaters in decrease of a conveyance wave energy and decrease of a wave amplitude in Stilling Basin, in according to their(Floating Breakwaters') forms and shapes.
I need to at-least two Software for simulate, analyze and design of that.
Can you suggest any software and article?
I don't know what are the Governing Equations according to this issue.

Hi,
FBWs are effective for very short waves (period less than 4 s) and where the wind fetch is not long. From an economical point of veiw, the best performance would be 50%.
PIANC has a guide line for FBW. P Ruol andL Martinelli have done some experimental works on Pi-type FBWs and proposed an emperical formula. If you are thinking about commercial ones, SFMarina, FDN and Ingemar are the companies who sell FBWs.
Regarding the softwares, WAMIT is good option, but note it is not open source. WAMIT is a computer program based on the linear and second-order potential theory for analyzing floating or submerged bodies, in the presence of ocean waves.
If you are looking for an open source numerical model, I highly recommend to use IHFOAM which is a module of Open Foam. It is brilliant. note it is a nonlinear solver which is really nice.

Flow 3D is user-friendly software to simulate the performance of Floating Breakwaters. You can create any complex geometry in solid, Catia or CAD in stl format and import to flow 3d. AQWA can be applied for FB with 3 degrees of freedom but Flow 3D is capable to model different degrees of freedom (0, 1, 2,3).
