Calculate geometry (length)

Turn on labels by right cliking

Set labels to Length in properties

First, check the projection system. Ensure the Projected projection system if it is geographical projection.

Add a field (float/double precision) called i.e.XX/anything.

Go to shapefile properties.

Click on label properties.

Check on the label tab.

Select your desired field name i.e. XX/anything.

Set labels to Length in properties like font size, font color, placement, etc.
