I create a simple cylinder in gambit and then i convert it into mdFoam solver of openfoam. i must apply a cyclic BC for my inlet and outlet, however when i use use "cyclic" in my 0 and Constant, and i run "decomposePar" for parelleing i give bellow error:

i define a cyclic BC in a differ manner. after create of mesh in gambit and convert of this mesh into openfoam 2.1.1 with "fluent3DMeshtoFoam", i define a cyclic as a my BC type in the boundary in System and 0 folder. Then i use "foamUpgardeCyclic" to adapte my mesh into the format of cyclic mesh in openfoam 2.1.1. and then, i change the BC type from cyclci to "cyclicAMI" and i add bellow lines under each BC in Boundary/System:
transform translational;
seperationVector (10e-9 0 0);
and create cyclic mesh without any error.

I guese, After converting mesh with fluentMeshToFoam command, you should use neighbourPatch command for two boundary
for example:
for inlet boundary you should use: neighbourPatch out;
for outlet boundary you should use: neighbourPatch in;
matchTolerance and pointSync command maybe important.

your guess is true. indeed, the commands you mentioned to them are standard command for cylic BC in OpenFoam.
for example, after converting of mesh and change the type of your BC in directory of 0 to "cylcic", then by "foamUpgradeCylcic", the neighbourPatch will be set in new Boundary file in directory of constant/Boundary. Afterward, if you interested to change your matching tolerance, you can set matchTolerance command in Boundary and change the accuracy of it from 0.0001(default value) to your considered quantity.

After importing mesh from Salome into OpenFOAM via "ideasUnvToFoam xxx.unv", I tried to follow your steps.
But the "foamUpgradeCylcic" command was not found in OpenFOAM 3.0.1.
Could you give me some suggestions?

In OpenFOAM V.2.1.1 the "foamUpgradeCyclic" is available. So, for suggestion, you can install OpenFOAM 2.1.1 in addition and near of your OpenFOAM V.3.0.1. Then, you can initially, create your Mesh Files in V.2.1.1 and afterward you insert them in your problem folder in V.3.0.1. its notable that, for activation of each version of OpenFOAM, you must select your considered version (#) in intended batch file.
