I am working on the estimation of the water spread area of a reservoir using Sentinel 1A data( Sigma naught VV component). The problem is both satellite sentinel 1 & 2 has the same spatial resolution 10mX10m but the water spread area which I got from these two images, (microwave & optical ) are not equal.
I guess it is maybe due to speckle filtering in preprocessing of SAR data the resolution is decreasing.
How can I fix this

The spatial resolution of Sentinel-1A differs from 2A and 2B. Sentinel-1A operates in different modes and hence forms different spatial resolution.
Following are the modes of operation:
1. Strip map mode
2. Extra-wide swath mode
3. Interferometric wide swath mode: Three sub swaths and covers 250 km’s entirely. 5x20 m spatial resolution.
Polarization: (HH or VV) or double (HH + HV or VV + VH) polarization.
4. Wave mode
I think you must be using IW mode therefore after preprocessing it will 5x20m of spatial resolution.
I hope you will be able to calculate the water spread area of the reservoir.
You also check whether your data is resampled while preprocessing.

As you mentioned I was using the IW product itself but how can I check whether my data is resampled or not. I had performed calibration, speckle filtering, and terrain correction as preprocessing.
