Hi researchers,

I'm working on the preparation of acetals from polyvinyl alcohol and aldehydes, and I'm wondering how to remove the aldehyde monomers from Polyvinyl acetate product in DMSO. I dropped the homogeneous obtained solution into water but monomers and products precipitated together, which is very hard to be filtrated.

When i dropped them into alcohol, the homogeneous product dissolved.

Does anyone know how to make this separation? My regards.
