I have run gc and got results in ppm for each gas H2, CO2, CO, and CH4. Now i need to use standard gas to justify my results but I dont know that how i can relate standard peaks with my results and how i can convert whole calculation into mol%?
If you have ppmv of your sample you just need to multiplied it by 10^-6 then use it directly as mole fraction since 1%mol=1%Vol then ppmv is part of million per unit of volume.
You may note the peak area for 1 unit (% or ppm) of the respective standard gas. Now you take the resultant peak area of your sample gas and divide it by the unit area of the standard gas, you will get the result of the tested gas against the standard gas.
