Hello. I´m working on metal-organic perovskite sequential evaporation, and i see a corrosion effect on vacuum elements conected to the pump. How can i protec the pump from this corrosion?
Would you specify what type of vacuum pump (rotor, purge or diffusion)? What kind of material is the vacuum chamber that also corrodes. Vacuum coating and coating chambers are made of particulate materials that react and interact during the process. Most often they are from Cr-Ni refractory materials.
Thank you for the answers. The evaporation chamber is a simple low vacuum deposition system, made from a glass tube with bronze parts for the conection with the pump. We only observe corrosion in the components asociated directly with the pump.
The pump is a Leytbol Trivac D4a rotary pump.
I´m not sure about the cold trap, but i suppose that it could work.
