1. Make an excel file containing point coordinates using constant values for x and y. For example, for x = -1, y=-1,-0.5,0,+0.5,+1. Then for x= -0.5, repeat for the same values of y.
2. Then, from the excel file copy/paste the values of y and z into a text file for each value of x so that each row in the file is in the form x, y, z.
3. Then in Solidworks use Insert>Curve>Curve though XYZ Points to import 3D curves for each of the x values above.
4. You will then have a set of 3D curves lying on the surface. You can now easily loft them into a 3D surface.
5. You can also do this using Solidworks "Equations" and "Design Tables", thus avoiding the necessity of making the above excel and text files. The sky's the limit.
