I am working with PVDF based composite films - energy storage and harvesting applications. I have a confusion about electrode material of these films. Many researchers are using aluminium foil electrode in this purpose. But, normal aluminium foils are very hard to paste on PVDF films. Can you please suggest me about the process of pasting aluminium foil electrode? We also purchased aluminium tape with one adhesive side. But when we checked, we found that the adhesive side was non-conducting. Is there any aluminium tape having one conducting adhesive side? If so, kindly share the link.
Please give some suggestion for both of the two cases (for normal aluminium foil with no adhesive side and fore aluminium tape with one adhesive side).

Or it would be more effective to design an additional mechanical enclosure to ensure contact and apply pressure , as PVDF would not properly bond chemically and use a conductive paste.
After you prepare your film , set upper and lower electrode of conductive Al foil , next fix the leads to each electrode. finally, encapsulate the whole device in PDMS
Dear @Ayman S ELmezayyen, thank you for your answer. I also once thought this process. But, in this case, is there any chance of air gap between Al foil and the PVDF film? I also saw various reports where Al foil is used as electrode on PVDF film without any encapsulation. I don't understand, how they do it!!
Dear Abhishek Sasmal . yes you are right, in addition it may cause the establishement of triboelectric effect. so, you do your best to keep the Al foil in good contact with your composite, which can be achieved by encapsulation in PDMS. it greatly prevent the separation mode between the electrode and the composite.

I will suggest for fabracating Al electrodes through thermal evaporation. If you really want to use Al foil as an electrode then to fix it on PVDF, use any adhesive conducting paste (silver paste) and take time to evaporate the solvent of silver paste completely, you can put the temperature up to 50-60 centigrade temperature. Otherwise, the air gap can be there which gives wrong information about electrical characterization.

I think for this problem you can buy a conductive aluminum tape and this tape should have one side adhesive. After buying this tape you can check the conductivity of this tape and compare it with the given conductivity value of the same.

Abhishek, you can go for conductive carbon tapes which we use for SEM samples preparation on the stubs. They are easily available online. Prior to that, you can check their conductivity, both the sides.
