The research question for my management research proposal is ‘How does the wellbeing of hospitality employees predict performance in the workplace?’ The Role of Wellbeing on Performance. i need to provide methodoligies to collect data and am stuck. this is for my dissertation ethics application. I am looking for a validated measure.
I use in my reasearch work - very quick and easy - the about 50 items (4 pages) of the EWCS European Work Conditions Survey, on job stress, work satisfaction, health complaints and treatments, self-assessed health, and general psychological well-being. This questionnaire was developed i the 1990ies to detect changes in work requirements and stress, and since then continuously further evaluated and translated into all EU languages. Do you know the technique Q-sort; I used it for measure wellbeing in education and the results are very interesting.
Unlike other data collection techniques, which involve independent reflection on each statement, the Q-spell technique refers to a reflection on all the statements that characterize a theme, a situation or a problem. The data analysis allows the grouping of subjects who share similar points of view and their discrimination according to different criteria: experience, status, gender, age, ....
