DDP is the addition product of DOPO to itaconic acid. For this reason it is a substituted derivative of succinic acid. Succinic acids react with amino groups under formation of a succinimide. Normal PA66 contains some amino end groups. To fix some DDP to PA66 it is sufficient fo pass a mixture of PA66 and DDP through the extruder. To enrich the PA66 with amino groups it might be advantageously to extrude the PA66 first with a diamine like IPDA and to make afterwards a pass through with DDP. Perhaps also the extrusion of PA66, diamine and DDP is promising. The best method of introduction of DDP is to make the synthesis of PA66 from caprolactame in presence of DDP. In doing so you must mix caprolactame with 10% of AH salt (adipinic acid - hexamethylenediamine salt), an excess of diamine and DDP. Polycondensation will occur at about 240-270°C in melt.
