I‘m using Mendeley, and I find it hard to now how to insert cross reference in my manuscript. I have even checked You tube and Google but they didn’t help.
By cross reference, are you referring to citation of different parts of the same material? Like, citing two different chapters in the same book?
Although I don't have a direct answer to your question, you have the option of manually editing a reference in Mendeley after inserting it. I find this option handy whenever a Mendeley-generated reference doesn't quite fit the format I wanted.
Thank you! I kn about that, but it doesn’t work. I actually will to submit a manuscript to Journal of research in pharmacy. They recommend each reference to be cross referenced. As par their template, on clicking the cross reference it will take you to the original source of the reference.
If you are using MS Word, you can manually link every article using it's DOI no.
For example:
1. Upper, D. (1974). The unsuccessful self-treatment of a case of “writer’s block”1. Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, 7(3), 497–497. [CrossRef]>> add hyperlink (https://doi.org/10.1901/jaba.1974.7-497a)
There might be an automatic way to do this, I didn't find any. In most journals, there is no need to do this while submitting a draft. They add formatting & cross-referencing after the paper is accepted.
