I am working with Botrytis on small fruit crops and got a problem this year that I cannot find any symptomatic fruit on the fields because of very dry weather this spring and summer.

So now I am trying to get isolates from asymptomatic fruit (believe that fungus is still inside fruit) but traditional incubation of fresh samples under high humidity (placing fresh fruit on wet paper towel in plastic box) doesn't work this time - I am getting a lot of other stuff that growth very fast (such as Aspergillus niger and so on) so assume that even if there is Botrytis I cannot see it because of intense competitive growth. I will be very grateful for any suggestions or ideas of other strategies and techniques that may help to get Botrytis from inside the fruit.

Thank you!
