Hello,
I coated polyaniline on the surface of ABS(acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and PLA(ploylactic acid). But polyaniline coating was easily dettached from the surfaces by shaking in water.
Is there any solution that can improve adhesion strength of polyaniline film ?
Suggestions (such as pretreatment, copolymerization, or etc) would be greatly helpful to me.

First of all make sure what is your dopant present in PANI. Is it inorganic dopant or organic dopant? PANI doped with inorganic dopants are generally insoluble in organic solvents. But PANI doped with organic acid dopants like DBSA, Camphor-d-10sulphonic acid are soluble in organic solvents. So make a homogeneous solution of PANI in m-cresol or CHCl3 and spin coat on ABS. Otherwise make a blend of ABS with PANI and get the proper plate. Now ABS is soluble in cyclohexane, so you have to design PANI to make it cyclohexane soluble. So copolymerize aniline with o-ethoxy aniline (1:1 ratio) and the copolymer will be soluble in cyclohexane. So make ABS soluble in cyclohexane and copolymer of PANI with ethoxy aniline soluble in cyclohexane and cast the film. That why you can get ABS encapsulated with copolymer of aniline.
NMP has an advantage when we make a solution of emeraldine base that it acts as a plasticizer. By this way, PANI emeraldine base film gets attached to surface. Of course you have to give some temperature to the coated surface.
