I want to do a transient thermal simulation with two blocks which are in the beginning (t=0) at different temperatures. The field for initial condition is grey shaded and says "uniform temperature". It should be possible to give for the two blocks different initial conditions, probably with an APDL command snippet, shouldn't it?

If two blocks are just forming one single body then by separated selecting them you can apply initial conditions part by part / or by selecting all elements belonging to each part separately. In this case mesh is consistent (same nodes) on the contact boundary. But you may have two separated bodies then you need to mesh them separately (mesh is not consistent or at least double nodes at the contact boundary. In this case you need to add the thermal contact element to transfer heat between bodies. Again initial conditions are applied by selecting parts
Most probably you need the transient thermal analysis, because if you supply only Neuman boundary conditions /for the thermal heat/ then as is known there is no stationary solutions.

You can simply type the following commands in the APDL code:
TUNIF,25, ! this is for uniform temperature that equals to "25 C"
TREF,25, ! this is the reference temperature that equals to "25 C"
IC,all,Temp,100 ! this is for initial conditions on "all" the nodes and equals to "100 C"
you can use "select entities" before you apply Initial Condition (IC command) and write the node number instead of "all".
