I synthesized sulfonated reduced GO according to the litterature below. Now I have a very stable dispersion of sulfonated graphene oxide in water (may contain a little bit of HCl, sulfanilic acid), I tried to centrifugate it with 13000 rpm for 30 min and 9000 rpm for one hour... but the dispersion is still very stable. I read about adding an organic solvent (for example ethanol) to destabilize the dispersion and make the centrifugation easier...did you try this method? or do you have a better method to get rid of the water? thanks a lot!
The problem with filtration is that the amount of the material is too low, it will stay definitively on the filter paper

i am working on acid derivatives graphene (water soluble graphene) and i faced with same problem...
because i am working on inorganic acids substituted graphene, i used thermal treatment Instead of final rinsing step,
however phosphate and sulfate are stable during thermal treatment but this method is not preferred for organic moieties derived graphene and graphene oxide derived materials...
because during thermal treatment most of the oxygen functionality and organic moieties are removed as same as most of Impurities ...
if you want to try thermal treatment, its better evaluate critical temperature by TGA.

I didnt measure the size of the GO particles, I ordered GO as sheets then I milled them in a ball milling machine... I think that they are in the size of nanoparticles.
