Hello to all researchers, I am using the Minitab 15 software for a biometric analysis with the aim of finding a discriminating function that allows me to classify males and females of the same bird species through 3 predictors. After entering the data and after indicating the two groups in a column, I chose the discriminant analysis option and I obtained all the results I expected. However the program gives me two discriminating functions, one for each group. How should I do to obtain a single discriminating function to distinguish the two groups ? I have seen that Scott, 1993, Ringing & Migration 14, 124 -128; and Walton & Walton, 1999, Ringing & Migration 19, 327-331 have obtained a single discriminating function, in which if the result is positive it classifies an object in one group, if the result is negative the object is classified in the other group. Is there anyone please who can help me solve this case?
