I guess it is possible with PRO version of google earth. try once.

It can be easily extracted from the Google Earth. Just draw your required section line on the Google Earth Map and then save it and select that line using right click on it, where a option is available for profile drawing.

The section lines, you may open from already drawn lines in your gis work, just transform them into kml format before open it in Google earth.

I tried as mentioned by following link which worked quite well where 5000 pts could be generated in selected area of interest.

First make a profile line in GIS and change in to point shape. Then use KMler extension of arcgis, then u can see the magic.
