Unfortunately, there is a class war that keeps many academic journals out of reach because of expensive subscription fees, but many can be found by pdf searches and academic dot edu authors tend to share a lot of copyrighted materials there. So your first issue is access to online database searches - your library can help. Then also if not restricted to English language, then you may find many more in Chinese or Russian, etc. (Chrome browser)

Once you have access to journals, then there is the task to rate the quality of the journals according to your research topic. Once you locate some of the top journals and papers, you can look at their latests publications and check their references and see who they are also citing.

Yes, as above, there are many videos and texts about how to write a literature review. If you are exploring for potential future master or doctoral research, then you want to do an exhaustive review, i.e., find out as much as possible that has been written (known) about the topic from multiple disciplinary perspectives.

Normally part of the literature review is disclosure of your methodology, i.e., how many relevant books and journals you located, what databases where searched, what was not searched (i.e., foreign language databases), how many of the journals you used, how many you discarded and why, etc.

Then you can look at what is written, what is relevant to your research,also disclosing what literature was kept, what is disregarded, and why, etc.

The most reliable source of methodological information and instructions to perform a systematic review is the "Cochrane Handbook" (https://training.cochrane.org/handbook).

Additionally, here you are a short practical guide to properly interpret review results and translate them into practice. It can be useful to learn how to understand findings of already published reviews and, at the same time, it may be utilized to improve your own methodological and research skills.

When faced with any question, being able to conduct a robust systematic review of the literature is an important skill for any researcher to develop; allowing identification of the current literature, its limitations, quality and potential. In addition to potentially answering the question, the information will give guidance to the planning and suggestion of the value of novel research. Significant experimental endeavours should be preceded by a comprehensive review of the subject and should exhibit the same rigour as any laboratory experiment in the assessment of both quantitative and qualitative data. Recent decades have seen the replacement of authoritative reviews by fully systematic assessment of the literature. Enthusiasts of the authoritative/opinionated review would argue that this method allows the reviewer to negate poorly conducted research from both quantitative and qualitative consideration, but such a method inappropriately allows the biased, imprecise and ‘unreliable’ presentation of evidence. Poorly conducted systematic reviews can mislead just like any other experimental study, yet meticulous planning and execution of the study design can minimise the compromising factors.
