I am currently working on a project involving DNA methylation analysis, and I am focusing on repetitive elements such as Alu (SINE) and L1PA2 (LINE). To design primers for methylation-specific PCR, I need to obtain the FASTA sequences for these repeat elements. I tried to search "Alu" and "L1PA2" on Ensembl and NCBI but I didn't find anything useful, I think I need the gene that codes for this sequence
Could you guide me on how to find the FASTA sequences for Alu and L1AP2?

Short version:
An Alu is not a gene, since it doesn't code for a product, it's a sequence element from an ancient retro-transposon.
Alu is a family of SINE elements with several different sequence motifs.
There is a generally conserved (kinda) sequence, but there are lot of variations.
There are literally over 1 million Alu SINE elements alone in the human genome.
You'll have to figure out which ones you'll want to focus on.

Dfam Database:Visit the Dfam database, which specializes in transposable elements. Search for Alu and L1PA2 to find consensus sequences and related information. You can download the consensus sequences in FASTA format from Dfam. NCBI:Although you mentioned having difficulty finding useful information on NCBI, you can try searching for “Alu consensus sequence” or “L1PA2 consensus sequence” in the Nucleotide database. Look for entries that provide the consensus sequences for these elements. Ensembl:Use the Ensembl genome browser to search for repetitive elements.
