I would like to analyse Twitter contents, the words in the mentions, the locations of the Tweets, how many re-tweets and favorites, the trending, etc, based on keyword searches. I see that many apps or programs ask to link up with my Twitter app account, which I have basic API only. So, any apps or software to help? Thanks a lot!

As far as I know, it is not possible with the basic API. But you can use Streaming API for keyword-based search. But you can use it for extracting just real-time tweet. I recommend the Gephi which is a free social network analyse program. You can download Twitter Streaming Importer which is a plugin for Gephi. It allows you to collect tweets containing specific keywords with the location of tweets and interactions of these tweets to other tweets and Twitter user, hashtags etc.

I tried so hard to find a way but I find nothing but streaming API.
I think that the only way of getting real-time data for free is by applying for a standard developer account. When your account is approved, you can use your keys for getting real-time data with RStudio, Gephi, Python or any other software.

I think that NodeXL will do the trick for answering most of your requirements.
