I am currently working on creating Aramid Nanofiber thin films for my research project. What we do currently is put a large dollop of the ANF on a glass plate that is in a spin coater. We spin it at 200 rpm for 30 seconds to spread it evenly, and this part works well. The problem is that we then lay another glass slide on top of the film by hand, which we then submerge in water to hydrolyze the dispersion. When laying the glass slide on top, it is very easy to get bubbles trapped in the ANF which then often causes holes in the final film as they move towards the center as it hydrolyzes. Is there any alternative method to compress the dispersion between two glass slides evenly and without the chance of bubbles being caught?
