We kindly get U-251 MG cell line as a gift from an other lab.
after 3 passage we have determined that cell line has yeast contamination. Each stock is contaminated while other cell lines are free of contamination.
How can we eliminate yeast contamination? As far as I am concerned during a yeast contamination only was to throw all the contaminated cells away but here, we have no such change.
I was using bavistin in plant cell culture to eliminate all Fungus but I am not sure if it works in animal cell culture. No such information exist in literature.

Dear Enes, If you have frozen away yeast contaminated cells you will have to combat the yeast infection. However, Pay strict attention to technique with your cells. Test your reagents for sterility before you do anything. The best way is to start from a new batch of cells that not contaminated with yeast or buy new one!

dear farzad I have even filter sterilize my media. all my reagent are steril. how can I exactly combat with yeast?

That is not absolutely, but approximately. you can try to freezing and then, use of Topsin M70.

What a terrible situation! You could try "filtration" of cells in a so-called diafiltration of yeasts using either filtration or dilution by centrifuge... Try to dilute yeasts as much as possible (retaining animal cells) and then culture in different flasks, if you are lucky, a flask will be free of yeasts. Pay attention to osmolarity so that your cells remain alive! --- If it does not work, in a dilute culture of yeasts contamination, you could try former alternative already proposed by Farzad Karampour Let us know your results!
Unfortunatelly no way was eliminated the contamination. We have junked each media and PBS that we used in contamination period and started with fresh cell stock from cell bank.
