Yes. I would centrifuge the dispersion first to pellet the NP's, then decant the water. Adding more and shaking will re-disperse them. Drying the pellet in vacuum overnight should dry them to a consistency you can grind to powder. You can do this three or four times to 'wash' the nano-particles.
For a stable suspension in water, I usually refer to UV-vis for concentration measurements, which is governed by Beer's Law. Makes concentration easier. I then back-calculate to volume fraction. In the absence of this, calculate the density of your powder, and disperse in a know amount of water. Should give you a rough idea. Best of luck with experiments!
