Can you suggest me with which chemical or method I have to dissolve the solid biomass because my sample of biomass(i.e. recycled sludge) is not getting dissolve in water. and I need to do its NMR and HPLC?
If you only have access to a solution state NMR instrument, you'll definitely need to dissolve it, and youll ONLY see signals from the dissolved components, nothing else. You can try different solvents to dissolve different components of your biomass, or extract the components with different solvents. You'll have to do solid state NMR for the insoluble components. Only way to do all of this together in one step without modifying the sample is to use a multiphase probe (Bruker).
Elucidating Structural Characteristics of Biomass using Solution-State 2 D NMR with a Mixture of Deuterated Dimethylsulfoxide and Hexamethylphosphoramide. The best choice for biomass is an instrument for liquid state,
There are different solvent that can do the job, please see the attached review about the routes of biomass dissolution and what is the suitable solvent
