How Can I dissolve carbofuran in water for preparation of stock solution of 300 mg/L for studying its photocatalytic degradation?, and what is the stability and method of preservation for stock solution?
Carbofuron is a solid granule formulation (G) perpetrated for controlled release in soil(mainly) and plant whorls. It absorbs water slowly. and can not be dissolved easily.
Thanks for your reply, but i want to dissolve it in water for preparation stock solution of 300 mg/L to study its photocatalytic degradation. Can I use ultrasonic or it will cause problems for my analyses.
solubility of of this chemical in pure form is around 700mg/L(the pesticide manual) at 25C. your amount would make almost 1/2 saturated solution of this one. if feel problem and acetone doesn't interfere your experiment, you can first dissolve it in a very small amount of acetone (solubility in acetone= 70g /L ) then make this up to your con. by addition of desire amount of water
