To dilute a plant extract to 100, 200, and 400 µg/mL with 0.5% DMSO, first dissolve it in 100% DMSO if necessary, then dilute into a 0.5% DMSO solution. For example, add 10, 20, or 40 µL of a 10 mg/mL stock to 990, 980, or 960 µL of 0.5% DMSO, respectively.

You don't need to dilute in 100% DMSO first!.
if you have a stock solution of 1 mg/ml and want to make 100 µg/ml:
....... You would take 0.1 ml of the stock and mix it with 0.9 ml of 0.5% DMSO (NB: Mix 0.5 g of DMSO with 99.5 ml of solvent for you to have 0.5% DMSO) to get 100 µg/ml.
Here you can mix your plant extract with 0.5% DMSO to get the right strength.
