I really agree with other contributors that BET anaysis is ideal. Also you just need to make careful consideration on isotherm models to use to fit contaminant sorption equilibrium in your data analysis.

U can do the BET analysis of your sample which gives the surface area,pore size, pore volume of the material ..

A problem. Methylene blue is a HCl salt. It means in structure you have some quantities of water removing of which for surface cleaning, can changes the structure. Measuring without cleaning also has his problems.
