i will try to drying plant extract using rotary evaporator and i will get weight but to how much i should diluted the sample after drying how i can calculate the dilution factor and what i should take in my consideration?
your question is not quite clear, after evaporation , now you have solid compound. Which conc. you mean? 1 g from how much of dried plant? What you want to do?
It is percentage of the extract which contain number of components, you have to check it by TLC after that separate using chromatographic methods. Calculate the % of each component.
after you concentrate the extract by evaporator it is good to put it in the incubator to get rid of free water (fluid) till become crystel then take for example gram of extract disolve it in known concentration and volume of a approperiate solvent such as DMSO. my regard
i want to determine the concentration because later on i will calculate minimum inhibition concentration in antibacterial investigation and because this will depend absolutely on the plant extract
Dear Sondos Almomani , I will send you a full diagram show you to calculate the conc. you need made by me. but it will be helpful if you give me the desire conventrations of the extract so i can help you if you do not have decided yet i will send you an example may help you
