The natural gas feed contains 100 ppm of Sulfur that needs to be removed from the natural gas feed. I am using a process called Amine Gas Treating, the amine that i will be using is MEA (Monoethanolamine), it is going to be present as 15% in the makeup water that is going into the absorber column.
Generally, the makeup water can be calculated by calculating the total water lost during the process. In your case, it should be equal to the water leaving with the natural gas plus the water lost during Amine regeneration.
Fahim Uddin, thank you for replying. the only thing that I have at the moment is my Natural gas Feed flow rate which is 5581.675 knoll/hr which contains 100 ppm of sulphur (0.01%). the amine which i chose for my process is Monoethanolamine (MEA), which will be present as 15wt% in the water which will be used in the absorber column, so how would i calculate the total water lost during the process?

You need to know operational condition (temperature and pressure) then from curves and/or abacus (within handbooks ) you found absrption rate = ( flow of H2S/flow of MEA solution). this rate is function of MEA concentration (15 or 20%) and operational P and T.

After you decide how much acid gas to remove and the water evaporation rate, then you need to decide what concentration of acid in water will be removed from the equipment. A mass balance averaged over a period of time determines the water make up rate.
try using a simulator to find loss of water. in the recycle stream use mass balance to adjust water make up.
