There are increasing research on the resolution phase of acute lung injury. However, what is the standard of the resolution phase? I see the term in lots of literature. There is different time points uses in their studies.
I think that there is lots of differences based on the model we choose. An sepsis-induced lung injury will be different from the tracheal LPS lung injury model.
HOW about the ventilator induced lung injury (VILI) mice model? HOW can I define the resolution phase of the VILI mice model?
Help needed. You will be greatly appreciated for any suggestions.

the question is one that I think is one of the most important in a clinical sense: as long as a patient improves the real problem is based on the fact of severity in the acute setting AND the evolution of severity. Therefore in an animal model I would check to have VALID data in the model on outcome, e.g. in a VALID VENTILATION OF ACUTE LUNG INJURY which allows to measure gas exchange to know then that GAS EXCHANGE IMPROVES. Pitfalls are surrogates as infiltrates, as lung functional data as they are too complex to really interpretate. In the clinical setting the most important point is the improvement of an optimally ventilated patients - I would begin there in the animal model, not forget PEEP and probably (discussion on its value, I think it is necessary in the animal model) cautious recruitment maneuvres (we do this e.g. in rat lung transplantation before assessment of lung function by gas exchange as our main read-out).
