I am doing a dynamic explicit analysis using ABAQUS,for the sheet metal forming process.The amplitudes are defined which is basically the tool position coordinates.but during the simulation the DEFORM step associated with process and hence the contact between sheet and tool is not happening . the amplitudes were defined wrt the tool tip point.could you suggest me how to define the amplitudes properly ?does mass scaling needs to be done for this process?
I don't know if I completely understood what you are doing. Basically I guess you have a punch moving and deforming a sheet of metal. Did you associate the amplitude to a displacement of the punch? Did you set the interaction between punch and sheet once they are in contact? In the Abaqus documentation there is a similar problem, just done in the implicit case. In that case if you want to define an amplitude for the movement of the punch (rather than the standard ramp which Abaqus uses) you have to associate the amplitude to the boundary condition defined to the punch. In the example it should be called RefPunchBC
check the contact definition and contact parameters. Your blank mesh maybe too coarse
