Hi,
I am new to abaqus. I am modelling a steel cantilever beam under impact loading in abaqus.
I used solid-homogeneous as my section. I created a step "Dynamic-Explicit"(time period=0.01), Initial velocity of hammer 1000m/s. I ran the simulation and I got results.
Now, I wanted to create an elastic foundation with stiffness=15Mpa, under my beam.
what should I do?
Can someone help me with my question? I am stuck.!

Hello Don Santhosh,
As far as I know, you can define the elastic foundation in the CAE for surfaces (on shells and solids) in the interaction module as an interaction.But if you want to apply it on a beam element you have to do it from the input file, and it will be applied on an element set not a surface.
You can find more details in section 2.2.2 in the manual.
