How can I convert EDS lines scan results from counts v. distance to wt% v. distance?

Hi,

I am analyzing the results from and EDS line scan. Unfortunately, the EDS software license is limited to only providing the counts v. distance plot and does not provide the wt% v. distance. In order to estimate the composition of my sample, I need relative composition results. Is there a way to do this conversion?

If your software is limited you may have a problem there.

The intensity comprises general factors including the stoichiometry and the cross section which are the same in every setup, however an apparative constant also goes in. I suppose the best workaround for you would be to measure a reference sample of known composition that's as similar as possible to your investigated system and calibrate your results to that.
