The easiest way (which I know about) is to read this 2d Fluent mesh into CFX-Pre. During that CFX will ask you, whether this is a 2d planar or rotational symmetric mesh and it allows you to extend the mesh in z-direction (you can choose the extension in z direction in terms of dimensional units [m] and number of cells). Once this is saved as a CFX-Pre DEF file, you can re-import the DEF file into ANSYS Fluent again and it becomes a 3d Fluent CAS file.

Perhaps ICEM is also a good software. It has a corresponding grid operation function, which can easily stretch a 2D grid into 3D. You can specify the size of the stretched grid, the way of size growth, the number of layers, etc.

Both methods (Yuang Tang and Thomas Frank) are good and will work, but it might be more reliable to use ICEM, although it must be Time-consuming.

In CFX, Mesh is converted 2d to 3d easly. But I could not export mesh file from CFX to fluent. How can I handle this issue?

For ICEM CFD, it works 👍
