Hi, I want to ask, suppose I have a rectangular surface. How can I vary its length with respect to time and in this varying surface area, I want to apply a load such that at any time it is applied on whole area of the varying face. How can I do that?
Hello Kshitij, As far as i know, when we step towards simulation; it is impossible to create new geometry or edit the geometry. So my suggestion for you is to create all the required rectangles at the time of modeling. So that later in the simulation you can chose the rectangle you need and assigned the load on the selected rectangle with respect to time.

changing size during solution (/solu) means deformation, which causes additional stresses. If you want to change the geometry of your model, you have to leave solution and enter the preprocessor (/prep7). However, you may continue solution with the modified geometry if you properly restart the analysis.

If the only purpose of changing the area is to vary loading area, then you dont need to change the area. You can make your load a function of time and spatial coordinate in ANSYS.
