I want to calculate required sample size for hierarchical regression by using G power.
I have two predictors in step 1 and two additional predictors in step 2.
I chose
"Ftest"
"Linear multiple regression: Fixed model, R2 increase"
Still, I am not sure which number to enter in "Number of tested predictors" and "Total number of predictors".
I would appreciate it if you could share your thoughts if you know it.

You would enter 2 under "number of tested predictors" and 4 under "total number of predictors".
I would be a bit careful here don't already have an overall sample size before you started the regression from data collection. In my understanding hierarchical regression is used to see how different sets of variables change the overall fit. Thus i would not collect more data depending on the initial fit. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Best wishes David Booth
