In the simulation of various power plants (including marine diesel engines, that is what I am interested in) the performance of the turbocharger is very important. However, having extensive information regarding compressor performance (in particular compressor maps) is not a very usual situation.
However, on the other hand, it is often the case that limited information about the performance of a turbocharger (e.g. flow rates and temperatures for 3-4 points) is available.
My question is: is there any approximated method for the calculation of turbocharger performance when only limited data about the turbocharger itself is available?
