We synthesized a zinc incorporated metal complex and studied the fluorescence sensing of complex towards brilliant blue color. We have noticed a blue shift with quenching upon adding brilliant blue to the complex. I am very much confused about the mechanism. How can I find out a suitable mechanism for it

If I understood well the question, I would suspect the formation of ternary complexes of your compound with brilliant blue (compound-Zn-brilliant blue). If so, you can measure the fluorescence at differing stoichiometries of these components. Furthermore, it would be perfect to add some additional method to confirm (or reject) it, e.g., UV-vis spectroscopy (not always good for zinc complexes), potentiometry or ITC (although ITC usually requires a lot of sample).
