I think it might be more interesting to cite different problems you encounter in geology and we may suggest some AI methods or ways to solve them. Just to give it the first try, here are some ideas I have in mind for now:
- ML methods can be a real asset in mineral exploration: using spatial patterns in determining areas associated with the occurrence of certain mineralization...
- Predict the occurrence of earthquakes using historical and geotechnical data.
- The presence of gold mineralization in some areas using geophysical data (ref. article: Machine learning as a tool for geologists).

You can use machine learning/deep learning in the geological/geotechnical engineering domain for automating the solution of different geological aspects, such as Landslide Susceptibility Mapping, Prediction of Geotechnical Parameters of Soil, etc. You might use standard numerical/tabular data or image (remote sensing, GIS Mapping Data, etc) followed by standard machine learning / deep learning procedures.
