I would like to define a new component with a reaction. So I need to add a new reaction with a not defined electrolyte. I tried to define this electrolyte in "User Defined" and then I add a new reaction in the "Elec Wizard". But Aspen Hysys/Properties dond't understand that this new component is an electrolyte. How I can solve it?
I tried, but when I put the electrolyte component, the flow sheet don't work. Appear a message "Chemical Formula for component(s) is unknown or not specified". I'm using the Gibbs Reactor
Try using aspen plus rather than hysys. elecNRTL would be one of the thermodynamic models and run the elec wizard. If the component does not appear in the list, draw the component and obtain the properties. And still, if the problem exists, obtain the properties from NIST TDE. User-defined properties can be inserted directly when we retrieve properties. Hope this will help you.
Unfortenely, my Aspen Plus don't work in my computer anymore. So I'm using Aspen Properties and exporting all the files to Aspen Hysys. The models that I'm applying are ElecNRTL for thermodynamic and NIST estimation. But Gibbs Reactor require reaction to work. For that reason, I created new component and component+ in Aspen Properties. Also including the equilibrium reaction in ElecWizard. I exported the file and its results to Aspen Hysys. When I put only new component, software works without problem. On the other hand, when I put new component and electrolyte, even the component plus is not envolved in composition flow, Hysys show me this message:
