I believe that one should do is to change the order of human values, sustained by capitalist relations, eliminating some, expanding others and adopting some new, in the perspective of human development (Max-Neff's thesis). Thus, we can move from the high relevance of the values related to the "Have" to a scale where the "Being" comes forward. Thus, we would have a context of values based on Being, to be, to o and Have, colligated to all human needs in the social, economic, environmental, technological and legal environment. An interesting indicator for this purpose is Gross Domestic Happiness (index adopted in Bhutan).
Moreover, several findings are particularly useful for national tourism planning efforts.
