Hi, I'm looking for a clean and direct visualization method to image dsDNA (assume purified extract available) with a fluorescence microscope. Currently, the most common ways to "visualize" RNA/DNA is through amplification (presence or absence) and then fluorescent signal detection. However, I am looking for a way in which I can mix dsDNA with a non-carcinogenic fluorescing dye and stick it under a fluorescent microscope. Is there a list of dyes for this application? If labelling is the only way is there a standard protocol for labelling? Thank you for your interest!
